Re: Are newer versions of Pro Tools OK on Windows?

Thanks for the input. I'll see if I can't untangle the feature and compatibility matrix and figure out what it'll really cost me, and what other software I'll need to upgrade as well.

Are newer versions of Pro Tools OK on Windows?

I realize that's kind of an ambiguous title. So, here's a quick summary:

Started with PT on OS 9 w/ 5.1. Owned a Mix3 rig, worked professionally in engineering / mixing for the first half of the...

Re: Delay compensation for internal bussing?

Ok, i think i've figured it out. I had an instance of RTAS "Frohmage" on another track. removing that made it all better. I suppose i need to turn of compensation for that particular track if I...

Re: Delay compensation for internal bussing?

Re: Delay compensation for internal bussing?

I'm using the Long delay compensation engine. And "Delay Compensation" is checked under the "options" menu.

Re: Delay compensation for internal bussing?

No. Bussing the 2 tracks to an Aux input results in audible delay.

Re: Delay compensation for internal bussing?

no plugins on these particular tracks. compensation is enabled and seems to work fine as far as plugins are concerned.

Delay compensation for internal bussing?

Pardon me if this is a dumb question. I'm mixing on HD for the first time, really, and I'd like to bus the snare track and a snare sample track down to a single aux so that I can ride the level as...

Re: Trouble with new HD system and apogee AD-16x and DA-16x

Yup, that was part of the problem. The other part is that the second interface will only work when its connected to its own card. I've got it going and making music now.

The computer (brand new...

Re: Trouble with new HD system and apogee AD-16x and DA-16x

Interface loopback. I'll have to run the test again to let you know the exact failures.

I was just on the phone with support @ GC pro and we got one interface to work with only the core card...

Re: Trouble with new HD system and apogee AD-16x and DA-16x

Yes. It does this whether the interfaces are connected or not. Also, FWIW, I got pt to launch completely with only the core card installed in the computer.

Re: Trouble with new HD system and apogee AD-16x and DA-16x

Well, I did try putting the cards in the computer backward, and you most certainly can do this; it just requires flipping the ribbon cables the other way. Same results, except that now my Core card...

Re: Trouble with new HD system and apogee AD-16x and DA-16x

I got it to work once, by removing the 2 accel cards, leaving only the core. Incidentally, digitest fails on any card with an I/O connected. One thing I noticed is, that when installing the cards,...

Re: Best/easiest way to generate a click for Mix+

I always just used a sample (or a couple of them) and arranged them on the grid and then duplicated as much as needed. It's easy enough to do, but is a pain if you change the tempo. An alternate...
