Yup, we're doing the rack, as well. We're adding a couple of SSL System-T consoles later and the rack MacPros will rack along side the SSL engines.

Because this 'group' may have gone through stuff that we haven't discovered yet!! Our engineering team pushes the edge for all of our video editors... while watching Avid video lists for problems......

Strictly audio but a couple of these systems are doing audio post to picture, so we will upgrade all of them to the "midfield" Radeon W5700Z graphics card.

The system we have is from Scale Logic, who are pretty big stuff in the post-production world. We've had the system a little over two years and it just ROCKS!!

We're finally upgrading our mid-2012 MacPros to new and am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for the CPU? 12-core? 16-core? Is the 8-core enough?

We'd load them with minimum 48GB RAM...

We had a problem with one on an iMac Pro going into the cage housing the HD card. All of a sudden PT couldn't see the card. We reinstalled drivers and everything. I eventually swapped TB3 to TB2...

FOUND IT!! I was just setting up a system in one of our new edit bays and everything ProTools opened had TABS in the window... one for the editor and one for the mixer.

My playback engine is always set to Aggregate.

Once ProTools is added in the SoundSource list, you can select to redirect it or not. Not sure what else to tell you... it's working here.
