I couldn't disagree with your assessment more. If anything, I would speculate things are headed in the opposite direction. Disposable, yes - but not $10,000 disposable. I think every studio has gear...

We've been looking into that one too. Don't know if we can swing without the faders and rotaries though. Seems kind of a hard tradeoff.

There's a whole LIST of peripherals and I/O that are functional but "unsupported". I don't think they're worried at all about being sued.

The pattern I keep seeing here seems to be:

a: ditch unsupported controller and upgrade to 11
b: keep unsupported controller and stay at 10

...and I have yet to see anyone go with option "a"....

The vast majority of those votes have come in over the last 5 days. That's pretty strong when you consider most of those requests have been up there for years. Plus I suspect many don't even know...

Playing Devil's Advocate here, I would propose that a more appropriate time to drop support for a given product is when there is already a new, comparable, tried, tested and more desirable product...
