multiselect in Timeline?
Right clic on grabber tool and select "object"
Then clic Shift (rather than Command) to add selection
The same with Smart tool (first select smart tool, then right clic...

may be you've to think count off and preroll as 2 different things
preroll is usefull both for playback or recording
count off can be added to preroll

if you want the play start marker to follow edit selection, you have to enable timeline selection follows edit AND (in pref/operation/transport) playstart marker follows timeline selection...

hello
to tap the tempo
disable the conductor
clic in the field Tempo in Transport window
use "T" to tap
(several taps...average)
you can copy it then to use it with conductor

if control is down, control command space prepare record and...prepare playback (something like auto-cue i forget the word) In this case stop light and play is blinking

yes. "relink offline" if you need to find it.
Maybe you'd rather choose "select offline" first, in the case you have to 'find all candidates' for instance.
