Re: PT 2024.3 | Released

This is absolutely pathetic behavior from Avid, but not sure why anyone would expect any less. Zero communication, in an instant broke the entire working paradigm for a ton of us who use either...

Re: Key Commands Not Working Mac mini M2

Thanks, it turns out somehow the session was corrupted. Which is sort of scary, but making a new session and all was fine. So no idea why, but it's working OK now.

Key Commands Not Working Mac mini M2

This is for a friend, but he has just bought a new Mac mini M2, and running the latest 2023.9 in Rosetta.

Certain key commands behave very badly and don't do what they should. For example:

Re: iZotope / Exponential Audio reverbs and M1 update

Stratus and Symphony are the ONLY two Exponential products that will get updated, but Isotope said from the beginning those would be for sure. It was the rest that they have abandoned which is...

Re: Plugins compatible with Apple Silicon natively

Audioease is great, I like them a lot. BUT I think they are just a pretty small company and probably just don't have the resources of some larger companies. But agree, they aren't the fastest to roll...

Re: Plugins compatible with Apple Silicon natively

Wouldn't it nice to hear anything from Izotope, GRM Tools, Audioease, Serrato (Pitch-N-Time), Plugin-Alliance.... those are still huge ones missing for me.

Klevgrand just updated a bunch of their stuff today, not all, but quite a few.

Re: Plugins compatible with Apple Silicon natively

A bit sad to see how long certain companies seem intent on taking. The ones that are gone are great, Eventide, Soundtoys, McDSP, FabFilter, Waves, Cargo Cult, Melda...

But not a peep from...

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

I've seen quite a few threads about 'native plugins not showing up in the Apple Silicone' build of PT. Just to be clear:

Many plugins that are 'apple silicone enabled' were not AAX Apple Silicon...

Re: Why can't Pro Tools import FLAC files?

1) BS. There is a TON of demand for it. Many of us have lobbied ProTools to support it for years. Not just for import, but natively.

2) BS again. PT can import and export MP3. That requires a...

Re: Audiosuite Plugins Greyed out

This bug occurs when you change the sample rate of a new session, or open a session with a different sample rate. Quitting ProTools and relaunching it fixes it. until you change sample rates again.

Re: 2022.4 bugs?

2022.4 was unusable to me, I had to revert back to 2021.12

Ridiculously slow to start, scanning plugins, sluggish, not sure what is going on, seems like a super buggy release.

Re: Really ?

That's your excuse? It's too risky to 'really' code well for M1? If that was the case, how did something like Resolve, gain 5x the performance in certain circumstances by properly coding for M1. How...

Re: New "Mac Studio" from Apple

So after a week plus with the new Studio, I can say overall I'm happy. BUT there is one HUGE bummer and I think from internet searching it's an issue with Monterey and not just the studio, but I'm...

Re: New "Mac Studio" from Apple

I think I've come to this conclusion:

IF your machine is going to be primarily a ProTools machine, this is not a worthy upgrade.

Some tests we all did yesterday, three systems. My Mac Studio...

Re: New "Mac Studio" from Apple

Ok In fact his turns out not to be that impressive as I thought as two friends on a 5.1 and hackentosh version can actually also play at 32 buffer with zero issues and no errors and actually lower...

So the more I play with this machine the more blown away I am. If anyone has some other tests or something let me know. Again I'm only just getting started with it.

And everything on this machine...

I was running the session at 1024 buffer which is what all the other people running it that I saw were using. Just for fun I just set my buffer to some different speeds, and here's what I can report:...

Re: New "Mac Studio" from Apple

I just got my Ultra on Friday, 128 gigs of ram, 2TB storage and 48 graphics cores. I'll share my initial thoughts.

Firstly the machine is a beast, very fast, boots in 5 seconds, the internal SSD...

Re: macOS Monterey 12.3 officially supported!

Some asked about Stratus and Symphony, and sadly no, they, along with R4 for me refused to work in 12.3. Pheonixverb Surround and R2 Surround work though. I hope they fix those soon, hard for me to...

Re: Color patette customization complete failure

Doesn't work for me. Saving a preset either via save settings, OR save settings as, neither works. The preset is NOT saved in either case. It's literally impossible at store a customized preset...

Color patette customization complete failure

It was great to see some customization appear in the new color palette, but sadly it's completely broken. Command-Clicking a preset number SHOULD store the settings, it blinks as if it is. But when...

Re: Tracks not banking on Avid Control app

Pretty astonishing oversight isn't it. And STILL not fixed. How friggen hard IS this... if a EuCon physical device can auto-bank, why can't the stupid App. Just ridiculous.
