I agree with Christopher. Give 12.4 a try.

You won't have Collaboration in that version though, in case that matters to you.

The root cause of 9173 errors has been illusive. There are a ton of clues, and anecdotal input from many users, but to date, it's just not really nailed down.

Do you have 3rd party plug-ins in your plug-ins folder? Are they all current (latest build)?

What interface? (Latest Drivers?) What OS? Is this with 12.4? HD or Vanilla?
