Re: Pro Tools 11 Recording Timing

Please post your session for further investigation.

I would post the session but my trial has now expired and I have no intention of buying the upgrade until I am confident this bug has been fixed.

Re: Ableton Live in PT11

Last time I checked this was a recognised fault with Live 9, in the 64bit version rewire ain't working.

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

I thought the whole point of PT10 was that there was a extended period of overlap where developers had plenty of time to get AAX ready.

From what I can gather Avid negated this whole strategy by...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

OK that's at least 3 of us experiencing exactly the same problem. How did this slip by beta testing?

I really hope they get this ironed out before my demo expires. I'll happily make do with the...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Actually Scott Senchak started this thread albeit with the same issue as me. Scott are you able to do the test and post your results?

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Thanks everyone who's tried the test. I really would like to hear from more people using PT11 native, particularly on OSX.

I love using PT and I had high hopes for 11 BUT if audio isn't getting...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Thanks John

OK so I think we're in the same boat, although your sync is bit worse than mine.

I took another look at my session and actually I also have a small discrepancy between the original...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Yes, check out the pics above, with delay compensation off it's perfectly in sync. The problem only occurs when delay compensation is engaged. Which is a shame 'cos using PT without delay...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Just out of interest I repeated the test in PT10, identical setup and the clicks lined up perfectly so this must be a PT11 issue.

Is anyone else on 11.0.0.528 having this issue? Which to recap is...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

OK thanks for the instructions.

The routed click is 2046 samples behind the original. That happens consistently wether the buffer is 32 or 1024.

With delay compensation OFF, the waves line up...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Obviously that's dependant on the buffer size, but for example say I am working with a buffer of 32, while recording the synth sounds almost perfectly in time. However when I play back that recorded...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Well I 'm not using any VIs anyway this is all audio from outside the computer.

Is anyone using 11.0.1, just wondering if this is a problem specific to 11.0.0.

Also is this seriously the only...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

More than happy to try but not sure what you mean exactly. Would you mind elaborating?

The main point is that for the way that I work (generally midi triggering analogue gear) what was working in...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

FYI doing the same test on the same project in PT10 results in a consistant delay of 300 samples +/- 20 (it's an analogue synth so a bit of variation is to be expected).

What is going on?!?

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Is there anyone from Avid in this forum? I find it really frustrating that there's been no official response on this.

Just opened the same project on PT10.3.6 and it works as it should, audio...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

How was this resolved? Was it a recognised bug or was it a setup thing? I really want support from Avid on this issue - is this forum the best way of getting answers?

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

I'm just using the RME UCX for conversion. It woks perfectly when recording but the recorded audio is always late. Seems to happen no matter whether there are latency inducing plugins/busses or not,...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

Surely you can record with delay compensation engaged and have the resulting audio recording print correctly IE not late. I must be doing something wrong.

Having done a quick search I see there's...

Re: Protools 11 Recording Timing

I'm having the same issue.

Tracks will monitor/record in time but on playback the recorded files are late.

If I turn delay compensation OFF then the recorded audio is where it should be.
