well, mbox doesnt have any sort of MIDI I/O, so you have to get a seperate one, and if it's usb, then just run it into another usb port on your computer.

What i do is i put all the protools program files on my internal, and then when i go to "Create New Session" in PT i make the session files in the external HD.

Yes, the mp3 does have to be purchased extra. iTunes does it for free.

As a Mac user, i was dissappointed with the news of the switch, but i think it will end up being better in the long run. IBM just wasn't cutting it for Apple, with delays and such. Btw, the 3 ghz...

Almost as soon as i posted this, i got it working. I set the clock master or whatever for external, and the sample rate for 44.1 and it worked fine.

No. this point has been argued and killed for months on here. The Mbox is essentally a big dongle. Many, many people have complained about this.

The Q-10 does this if you try and boost or cut the gain in it. basically, it's crap. i use it on a HD|2 Accel system and if i boost or cut more than 6 or 7 db then it distorts....i dont know.

Your best bet - and the only option i would consider - is to get and external FW drive.
