Re: A Post Sound Need List REDUX

Allow me to clarify myself. When I made that comment, I was referring to the faact that Digidesign refers to their 5.1 meter layout as film format.

Having said that, the dr.'s support for SMPTE...

As suggested by some Digidesign folks at AES, here's the post need list for Pro Tools HD v7.1, anticipated to be released at NAB in April of 2006 (in no particular order). If these need explanation,...

Re: A Post Sound Need List

I RTFM and it didn't say you could get that by typing it in. They should just add those choices to the menu then as well as updating TFM.

Thanks for the tip!

Re: A Post Sound Need List

It would be very useful if Pro Tools could export audio (shift+Apple+K) at sample rates less than 44.1kHz, such as 11.025kHz, 16kHz, 22.050kHz, and 32kHz.

Re: A Post Sound Need List

I won't be picking up MediaStation until it is no longer keyed to MOJO hardware. I've been told that if you need to do a straight conform from an EDL, then MediaStation will work. If you need to...

Re: A Post Sound Need List

Don't bank on it.

Please!

Please!

It's here! It's here! MediaStation|PT has finally arrived. I wonder if it has any bugs, and what took them so long.

Re: A Post Sound Need List

Actually, I found a bug in v6.4.1 (if it was fixed since, someone please say so) with the incoming timecode window. The incoming timecode window does not indicate the type of incoming timecode! If...

Re: A Post Sound Need List

It would be nice if PT could export a CMX3600 EDL (you know, the kind that PostConform would read).

Re: A Post Sound Need List

When using MachineControl, if a deck is not online, the deck should not chase Pro Tools! As it is now, if a deck is offline but connected, and machine follows scrub/shuttle is on, the deck continues...

Here's another for the list.

Support for at least 281 markers, marker sorting by name or by number, and the ability to renumber markers.

Thanks for reading!

Re: A Post Sound Need List

I think I will use the DUC ReVibe plug-in here.

Fade tail of ReVibe. This burned me again Digidesign! How about sitting down with the folks in MA and putting an end to this?

Re: A Post Sound Need List

Are you referring to using machine control's remote mode? What version of PT are you using? I've heard that v6.6 or v6.7 has improvements to remote mode.

Re: A Post Sound Need List

Man, Digidesign is getting closer to making me jump to HD. Rob, did you file a problem with DigiTechSupt? Can anyone else reproduce Rob's crash?

If this worked reliably, man, that would be cool!

Re: A Post Sound Need List

Here's another need.

When working with a file that has a defined sync point, the sync point should become the playhead when scrubbing the file across your timeline.

Or to phrase it differently,...

Re: A Post Sound Need List

Yet another need for the ever-expanding list.

Re: A Post Sound Need List

Here's another, in the vein of OMFI.

Problem: Avids can export OMFIs with audio that is both 16-bit and 24-bit in the same sequence. When you attempt to load such an OMFI into Pro Tools, you get...

*Make a SYNC I/O that can lock to tri-level HD sync signals at...

I'll pay money for all of these, in the form of upgrading to HD.
