Re: MIDI Studio Setup

Probably a different list from the one I found in the MOTU folder, since I found the 'Piano A' bank included patches from the expansion ROMs, which have different bank selects. The file I posted...

Re: MIDI Studio Setup

I put a midnam and middev file for the ZR up at: www.alterspective.com/ZR.zip (http://www.alterspective.com/ZR.zip) - I'll leave it there for a few days. Since I only have a Mac, and don't have PT, I...

The only reason I ask is that the most recent...

Re: .MIDNAM Friggin\' NIGHTMARE!!!

BTW - I assume you've been to the Roland site and used their 'Patch Builder' utility that will generate a ProTools compatible midnam/middev file for the XV-5080? (along with with whatever SRX...

" I tried Cherry Picker too, and had trouble understanding it. "

Hard to know how to help - what did you try? There's a link in the menu to send me an email, and I'll try to help if you use it.

Re: Using 3rd Party MIDI Patch Name files in Pro Tools

The midnam and middev specs were put together by the MIDI Manufacturers Association, so you might want to check their site; but, the last time I looked, there was no info.

I wrote a middev editor...

Re: Using 3rd party MIDI Patch Name files in Pro Tools

You might try deleting the K2600 device from Apple's AudioMIDI Setup app, and then add it back in again, connecting it to the same ports. Make sure you choose 'Kurrzweil' from the manufacturer popup...

Re: What headphones are people using?

I second the plug for Ultrasones. I picked up a pair of Proline 750's earlier this year, and have been blown away by their accuracy/tightness. I think phones suitability depends on the genre of music...

Re: BEST headphones for monitoring???!!!

I recently got a pair of Ultrasone ProLine 750's, and am still in total awe of how accurate and transparent they are - you might want to check them out. (No, I don't work for them!)

Re: Yamaha cs2x.midnam file

It's included in the MOTU midnam distribution, which you can download from: http://digicake.com/midnam/index.html

If you have trouble using the midnam, run the MOTU folder through CherryMangler -...

Re: Using 3rd Party MIDI Patch Name files in Pro Tools

I just wrote a little stand-alone app that basically converts the entire MOTU folder to a ProTools compatible one in one shot, and also constructs a Digidesign middev file for all the models it finds...

Re: Using 3rd Party MIDI Patch Name files in Pro Tools

I just posted an update to CherryPicker (2.5) at: <http://www.alterspective.com/cherrypicker> which might help with some of the problems I've seen in this thread. (it's a freeware MIDI Patchfile...
