Re: HELP with a RTAS Processor Question with 7.4 and a G5 2.5

That Mac was a dual processor. You can look up the specs on multiple sites like... https://everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g5/specs/powermac_g5_2.5_dp.html

Open up the case and see if both...

Re: CPU Issue

Oh Doh I'm an idiot, the dither comment was such a knee jerk response, that won't help here with a VI. If it seems to it may be some subtle interaction with plugin scheduling (make sure dynamic...

Re: CPU Issue

Something is really broken here, with just two instances of Omnisphere falling over. Assuming the system is properly optimized and things set up OK (always the first suspicion) and this is still...

Re: CPU Issue

you need to reread the info under “help us help you” all this should be explained there.

BTW trashing prefs should be an automatic thing to do any time you have a problem. You can do that by hand...

Re: CPU Issue

And thanks for the Sandra report, I can’t see anything there that looks bad, we just don’t see enough Ryzen CPU systems to know much about them.

Lots of drives, I am not sure where you are putting...

Re: What do I need to monitor in Dolby Atmos with my setup?

I am not following the details of this thread, but in the last comment here. Icon do *not* use Eucon. Two different beasts from two different legacy companies.

Re: CPU Issue

OK so testing with dither likely showed it’s not denormalization related, so likely just some other programming bug in Omnisphere.

But do a another quick test: move all other plugins out of the...

Re: I wonder if any of you have a solution for this?

Uh yes clone backups are exactly what you should be using. Anything at all goes wrong... you attach one of the several clones you have... Option+reboot, select it and are off and running.

Re: CPU Issue

Overclocking your CPU? I hope not because of this problem. This is very likely a problem with buggy plugins. Fix that first.

DUC == Digidesign User Conference i.e. this very forum you are posting...

Re: PT MP9 + other license's lost

You've sent numerous emails... to who? did they reply?

There is a process to try to do this, did you follow that?

Re: CPU Issue

You can also look up past reports of problems with CPU issues with Omnisphere on DUC and elsewhere. They either had denormalization or other problems in the past and might still do in some...

Re: Xpand!2 weird levels issue...

That's *not* how duplicate works.

Uh maybe you should be... duplicate will reduce the chance of finger problems causing issues (e.g. accidental keyboard shortcuts inserting volume...

Re: CPU Issue

Running out of CPU when halted is a classic sigh of plugin denormalization problems. What plugins do you have instantiated that are prone to that (Sansamp? DVerb? Omnisphere... oh wait :-)). Stick a...

Re: Xpand!2 weird levels issue...

I'll bet the problem is staring you in the face. Check MIDI volume on the track (be sure to show that and look for accidental automation) or just the plugin level adjustments. Try running them at the...

Re: Question about big studio monitor speaker power management

You already own these and know the exact model monitors??? (because we don't) ... you can read the documentation for those models to see what they support.

This thread is really a waste of time...

Re: Question about big studio monitor speaker power management

As already said many will leave stuff on.

If they are separate power amps many of those have 12VDC driven power switching and lots of Pro and consumer automation systems drive that stuff. Some...

Re: Resurrect old m-powered license w/no M-audio interface?

Yes MP requires an MP compatible interface... if that is all you need you can find those used cheap... as long as a driver is available to run on whatever OS you are using.

There is no such thing...

Re: 11R as main interface for Live

No, you are misunderstanding the issue.

You can turn the Eleven Rack off anytime you want. That will (unload the driver from the OS and) stop the driver hanging if the computer sleeps or suspends....

You are repeating what you've largely already said and are clearly not reading the previous replies carefully.

It's not what any track meter tells you that you need to be worrying about here. As...
