Re: Beta FW driver Snow Leopard

I've been using PT8 with 10.6.1. Works fine. I have two computers running PT8, one is an iMac with a Fast Track Pro Ultra, and the other has a Project Mix. Both are working fine.

I must say that...

Re: Bets on when Pro Tools will become compatible with Snow Leopard...

Hmm, I don't remember 7.4 being $150 to update. And it sorta worked on 10.5.....

Though 9 months to get it working is totally unacceptable when other companies, like MOTU have their software...

Re: so i ordered Snow Leopard...

Well, since it took Digi something like 8 months to get ProTools working on 10.5.....I'm not really optimistic at all.

Re: Problems - MBox with ProTools

Um, well, you need ProTools LE for an MBox.........not M-Powered.

Re: New iMacs out today. Questions...

Um, well, generally older OS releases do not run on new Macs. So, a new iMac is probably not going to run 10.4.11 well, if at all. There might not be video drivers for it, etc, etc.

So, you'd need...

Re: Just Help Nayone..Is Anyone out there??

First off, make sure ALL your drivers are up to date.

Disk Utility is NOT the place to find the M-Audio 410. You could go to the Apple...

Re: download purchase question

I dunno, but Digidesign ought to have given people a discount for downloading. Seriously guys, 11 1/2 gigs to download all the stuff? I started around 11am, and it is still downloading stuff (as of...

Re: Will Protools 8 MP support more than 18 i/o??

But how hard is it to import a recording you did in say DP5 into ProTools? Not hard at all.

It sucks that Digidesign doesn't want support more tracks on their own products.

Re: Project Crashes Upon Startup

It seems it might be some sort of Altiverb bug. Aram Verwoest from AudioEase seems to think that perhaps a pending update to Altiverb will fix the loading problem.

The solution to the problem...

Re: Project Crashes Upon Startup

Exactly. And it wasn't like I did anything outlandish to my project. Spent 2 some hours in Melodyne. Every other project seems to load fine and those projects use Melodyne and Altiverb as well,...

Re: Project Crashes Upon Startup

Not sure that would actually be a solution path worth following.

If you read the stuff before, if I disable Altiverb, the project loads. If I enable Altiverb and disable Melodyne it will load....

Re: Project Crashes Upon Startup

If all the plugins are active, it is Altiverb that crashes. If you disable Melodyne it will open, or if you disable Altiverb, it will load.......

Well, I dunno if it is that similar. The project didn't complain or anything while editing, and it never crashed while I was working on it. It didn't say it was running out of ram either. Nothing...

I don't understand that at all. And that is not really an option in this project. It has about 24 tracks.......and was almost done.

The only thing I can think of since disabling Melodyne will...

Re: Upgrade (Somewhat)

First off, OS X 10.5 needs at least an 867Mhz G4. So, that right there won't work. 10.4 would probably work......

I was running a G4 933 for a while, then upgraded it to a dual 1.8 G4. It was...

Re: Firewire 400 or USB 2.o Hard Drive Recommendation

If I were you, I would get an internal Firewire Card or eSATA card, and get a drive to hook up to that. That way, your Project Mix will be on it's own Firewire bus, and the new drive(s) will be on...

Re: What to do?

I use an iMac to record on. You should probably consider using something OTHER than what your audio device is on. So, if you got a USB2 audio interface, use a firewire drive to record on.

I don't...
