Re: What Version of PT works with HD Omni

In case you are really new to this stuff, here's some deeper detail:

1-The Omni(or HD IO, 192 IO and 96 IO) all require a card with a Digilink connection.

2-all of these also require HD...

Re: routing within pc

Indeed, I have never been able to make a direct path into PT without going out and coming back into inputs on my interface. Pretty sure you could do it with Audacity(free) or some other free...

Re: Audio delay with interface

Some general info to add to the discussion:

1-Ozone 9 is a serious resource hog, and has a ton of latency, so best to leave it inactive until mixdown(when you can up the buffer to 1024). Remember...

Re: Mouse/MIDI track latency

Why or why did you post this question in the section for licensing and accounts??? Maybe one of the mods can move it to the section on MIDI?

Personally, I have not seen what you describe here. It...

Re: Recording drums to different tracks

Indeed^^^, make sure you are looking at the correct instance of Xpand if you have more than one. I would be tempted to just put up a few INSTRUMENT tracks with Xpand on each. Then, decide what sounds...

Re: Latency using external controller to control XPand!2

That's what Ben meant. If the computer will handle the 64 setting, that should feel fine. Another way to hear latency is with certain plugins. Some can add zero latency, but others can add hundreds...

Re: Mbox 3 pro and windows 10 pc

FWIW, I'm quite happy with a Presonus Studio 1810c connected via USB3(can also do USB-c). They have several models in the range with more or fewer IO, so you might find one that suits your needs...

Re: Mbox 3 pro and windows 10 pc

No firewire-USB adapter will work. A compatible firewire card is pretty easy, just get one that fits an open slot in your machine, AND make sure it uses a T.I. chipset(though this is not as crucial...

Re: Behringer UMC1820 - Pro Tools 11

Shooting from the hip;
1-if you are on Windows(see why details matter?), make sure that Windows(in Sound Properties) is NOT using the Behringer as its "Default Playback Device"(set that to the...

Re: 197 audio not where it should be?

Glad you got it sorted! Most of us have made the same goof at least once or twice. Especially when someone brings a session in on a flash drive or external hard drive. There is a setting in Prefs to...

Re: Best way to measure total I/o latency?

Not the "empirical" answer, but maybe the important answer;

First off, using a firewire (or USB) interface is going to be nowhere near as good as the TDM system and HD/Native(with HD IO or 192 IO)...

Re: 197 audio not where it should be?

Only you can figure that out. Where did these audio files come from? Imported from some external drive? Brought in as a full session from another PT setup? Recorded directly into the session you are...

I experimented a little but saw no significant change(but was not aware that running as admin had any affect, so???). Moving from an older socket 1366 to a newer socket 2011 system made a much bigger...

Re: EZ Drummer2

Some things to consider:
1-(in case you are on Pro Tools First)only 3rd party plugins that are gotten from the Avid store work with PT First(as far as I am informed). I'm not sure of where you got...

Re: Room Correction Plugins

You will need to check with all companies to make sure you can get RTAS or AAX32 to work on PT10. I have used ARC1 and ARC3(IK Multimedia) and Sonarworks. Of those 3, ARC3 gets my vote. While...

Re: Mapping pads on a controller to sounds in Xpand2

Assign each pad to the midi note that triggers the desired sound. Maybe a youtube search will turn up a video showing how its done:o

Is the grid enabled? See the screen shot and red arrow. Clicking on that "button" will toggle it on/off.

Re: Calculating combined length of clips

I know of no way to do what you want. The only idea I can offer is this;
Duplicate the playlist first(because you will be changing the duplicate).
Use the proper key commands to place all the clips...

Re: Using my Yamaha RX-8 drum machine as a MIDI controller

Cross-posting is against the rules, so maybe try to delete the other. It should be possible to use the RX-8 as long as things are set up correctly. Assuming you have a midi input on your interface,...

Re: Hyperthreading in 2020?

Best to try it on and off with a big session and see. In the past, there have been different results on very similar systems, so testing is still the best way:o

Re: Feature request: Mixer window should have a wider maximum width

Great idea, and if Avid ever decides to accommodate 4K screens, maybe this would/could be a byproduct. You mentioned narrow view, but there is a 3rd option that is undocumented. If you use the "fat...
