Someone from Digi said here on the DUC that the prg change system will change in a next PT update (he said the code was already written for some time). So I expect it to be ok in PT6.

I use Logic on a Dual800 with a mix3. I get a better performance when I switch dual cpu off! Also there are a number of problems with crackles in the audio (confirmed by Emagic) when using dual CPU...

Apart from OS-X I see little impovements. And 5.3 was already showing age big time.

What about different bit and sample rates, stereo interleaved files, folders for plugins/ audio files, folders...

Linking multiple macs together with VST link has one major drawback. All the latency's are added up! This means that latency is completly unacceptable.

However, what if apple starts using those...

I think one thing everybody forgets is the pc. VST will remain a standard on PC. For plugin developers it's now easy to port between PC and Mac. Therefore I'm sure that there will be a lot of OS-X...

In theorie you should be able to use Logic for just sending VSTi's to PT. You can run them side by side with Logic doing the native stuff (+ESB) and PT the TDM stuff.

It is a lot of hassle though....

With Logic there is a difference with double CPU. Logic uses 1 for midi and screen stuff and the other for audio and plugins.

Therefor you can insert a large number of synths etc. before you...

Are you sure that your drives are connected to the Digidesign disk i/o card? PTIII cannot use the internal HD of the Mac.

It's like saying that you will run the entire mix through the keypax to fix whatever is said as being wrong images/icons/smile.gif Works great with most A&R's.

Or just turning the volume a bit...
