Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

This is such an annoying bug in the Mac OS. I'm only witnessing it in Catalina and Big Sur.

If anyone has an OS based workaround please post it in this thread. Thanks

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

Awesome! Thanks for testing on your end. When I have time I’ll do some more digging but this good to know. KM it is for now.

Funny. I wasn’t using any modifiers with my shortcut key. It was...

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

Oliver, if you create a Pro Tools Service with this script and then execute the service using a Mac OS shortcut key, do you get the triple click of the Render?

This was my issue I posted a couple...

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

Fastscripts has been mentioned in the thread but I have not used it. I just haven't had the time to debug why the script executes Render three times when executed. KM has been my solution.

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

I was having the exact same issue. My solution was to execute the script using Keyboard Maestro and ditch the Mac OS native shortcut key execution. Thanks to Oliver’s suggestion.

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

Thanks for your help Oliver,

I've discovered that creating a hot key in Keyboard Maestro and executing the script with a macro works as expected.

I'm not really sure why the native OS...

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

All great suggestions. I’ll try a few things and report back. I agree that it’s the trigger used to execute that is the problem.

Thanks again.

Good idea on the wait part, hadn’t thought of...

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

The script runs fine through the editor. Originally I was doing a system keyboard shortcut for the service. You think KM was messing that up?

I’ll try FastScripts and see what happens. Thanks!

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

I have tried a few different keyboard combinations that aren’t being used for anything else that I know of. I do have keyboard maestro on the system.

I try just a straight up...

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

not really sure about that. Considering the script runs in a matter of seconds I wouldn't think it would be a big deal to just take your hand off the mouse when using the shortcut key to run the...

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

Re: Automation AppleScripts for Pro Tools (Mac)

Yeah. I see that. I think there’s a system delay for the “click” command in the script.

I’ll try and get a workaround for that. I believe the script is waiting for a system response hence the...
