I did not get to the swapping of HDD or anything.
I took out the ram, and the board did not beep.

So has been handed over to Avid support.

I am building sessions in 10.x and then moving em over to 11. As 11 is so much leaner.
It seems to me that Windows is currently sidelined over OSx. No Fwx driver support for Win 8...

Been using the 1820 for a lon time without issue on win 7 x 64. On win 8 it started causing stability issues (i think it was the creative driver), hence retired.

If the audio device is configured to be windows default audio device, it indeed causes all kinds of trouble with PT!

I have had no issues with recording/playback of 32 tracks from my windows laptop. Protools and Reaper.
Use an external USB HDD.
