Re: Slaving problems with Sync IO

I've had problems where the level into the SYNC I/O was not high enough, The timecode was still being read but I would lose sync. Try boosting the level of your LTC signal.

Re: Your steps for overall album balance

Thanks for the replies,

Yah, I guess I am doing the same basic things as the rest of the people posting. I have not had the budgets to send out for mastering so I can't comment on that. My...

Your steps for overall album balance

Just wondering how everyone else is getting their album mixes to have a consistant sound?

What I've been doing is setup a mix template, and then import all tracks into that. Run mixes and fine...

Re: Digidesign PRE

No noise with mine. I do have a problem with channel 4 on mine. It does not switch inputs properly. Even though in the software it says mic has been chosen, I have to toggle between DI or line and...

Re: SM58 vs RØDE NT1

Funny thing happened to me last night. I was doing vocals on one of my tunes, and as usual I put up a couple of mics to record my vocals. I do this so I can choose and mix and match with levels and...

Re: Mix It Like A Record

Yah ,I just got it as well. Man I hate that video editting! It's very hard to watch. And what's with the audio mix when he's talking? Sometimes the mix is so bad I have to strain to listen. For...

Re: Digidesign PRE

I used to love this unit, now I'm just liking it very much. The remote feature is great. I'm finding as I record with some of my older preamps that I've rebuilt, that the "Pre" does not have as...

Re: Question about \"normalise\"

Humm.. Why do you suggest we do not normalise? Is there a problem with the math in the process of changing the levels? Or is it something else? I agree that it is best to get your levels where you...

Re: Quality Mouse??

I used to use a Track Ball but found that after 6 months or so my index knuckle started to hurt from the sideways motion of the fingers. I moved to a drawing pad with pen and I find this works well...

Re: Best way to back up a hard drive

Kingfish, you are wondering how our archives are gonna hold up in the future? I'd say we are looking at losing many priceless audio recordings in the future. As an example, not all audio of...

Re: Best way to back up a hard drive

I'd be careful with DVD's. As with CDR's your data integrity is dependant on the burner/media relationship. As well, in the archiving business we always backup to two different types of media so...

I always wonder if the companies read or follow these forums? I feel reluctant to badmouth or praise specific brands. What I will say is from longterm storage studies that we have conducted, gold...
