Re: Channel names greyed out

Sorted this one now. The inputs had been changed from ADAT to AES/EBU, so I changed them back. I also did a power cycle of the whole system, in case the i/o hardware had become confused. This just...

Re: Channel names greyed out

I have noticed that the channel names now also read (e.g.) '1 Audio 1' and '2 Audio 2' rather than just 'Audio 1' and so on - this has got to be something that has been changed...

Channel names greyed out

I am working in a studio where I don't often work. My session today was recorded elsewhere, on an MBox, and all my channel names are light grey (rather than nice solid black). Everything plays OK,...

Re: Slot order

This seems to work -

Mix Farm, d|24, DSP Farm, DSP Farm, Sample Cell

I haven't checked out how many voices are available, but I never seem to need more than 32.

Re: Pro Tools III card in G4 with OSX - possible?

Interesting, Mr Toolbox.

I have a (QE) Disk I/O, an 882 and an early G4 lying around. The G4 has 10.3.9 on it. Can you remember anything else about your experiment?

Re: Slot order

Interesting...

The Mix Farm has not arrived yet, so I am still looking for suggestions.

I wonder if there is a trade-off between voices and DSP power?

Re: TDM plug-ins for PTIII system

RTAS support for TDM started with PT 5.1, but you can only go to PT 5.0.1 with a Disk I/O. You can add DSP Farm cards to a Disk I/O system to get lots of TDM processing power. You can't do this with...

Re: OMFI Avid Liquid to PT 24

Thanks - I'll check. I think we tried v1 and had no joy at all, so went to v2, which is bringing audio across (but no wildtrack).

Re: Session 8 R1 help!!

Old post, I know...

I just got a cheap R1, and if you select "PC-1600" as your controller in Pro Tools you can use the faders (displaced by one) i.e. fader 2 controls channel 1 etc.

Re: OS 9.1 Sound

My 8600 has a 604ev CPU running at the original 250MHz. It has Machine ID 69. I have done nothing fancy with it, just crammed all my odd bits of RAM in...

Re: Which slot for SCSI card?

OK - thanks for the explanation. The card is not doing anything spectacular (just showing the mixer window) and has made using Pro Tools a whole lot easier. I may get a dual head card in the future....

I am going to buy a moderate SCSI card for my rig (just for odd occasions where I need to hook up a SCSI drive) and was wondering which slot it should go in. I have an AGP G4 with 3 PCI slots...

Re: Dead DSP Farm

Yep, interface was conncted during testing. I am wondering if the PCI matchmaker chip is fried - it looks slightly discoloured in the centre area.
