I agree completely!
Support is not really a strong selling point for most users.
However if Avid decided to bundle all of their proprietary plug-ins then it might be a more attractive offer.

There are already keyboard assignments for rating clips.
Hold down Control+Option+Command (aka "Powerclaw") and then type the rating [1-5] on the numeric keypad.

We use an external clock and prior to 10.3.4 Pro Tools would pop up a message box if there was a clock mismatch with the session sample rate, now it doesn't do that anymore.

We have the Solo 610, but it rarely gets used and it would not be my top recommendation.
As far as tube preamps go, I've been very surprised by and would recommend any of the Sebatron VMP line....

Consumers and plug in developers have been slow to adopt PT10. Avid has made some very good changes, but I think they tried to grow the PT brand too large, too soon....

Our studio upgraded from HD Native to HDX and were able to purchase just the HDX card without an interface from a retailer (since we already had 2 HD I/O's that were used with HD Native).
