Re: P T reports no movie present

Obvious, but, is the "circle" icon on the video track "on" (blue I think, not at a Pro Tools rig)?

Re: Oh No! Another DCI Spec request!

Holy Moley. I think I just got whip-lash from the double take at that list (or threw up in my mouth a little). I hope it pays well.FrankPS - Hi Dallas T!

There is a wonderful Sound Design Special Feature on the Wall-e disc. It includes a tour through Disney's Audio Prop storage facility.

This will sound insane, but...

I had really good luck with a swimming pool "noodle" once for this. You know, the 4-5 foot long x 4" coated styrofoam tubes you buy for kids to play with in the...

Re: Indiana Jones sound...

Misleading subject title

I was prepared to discuss the fact that, in the theater I saw it in, the body falls and punches, irrespective of depth with in the shot, were as loud as the crashes and...

Re: Appropriate Levels for Broadcast TV

Are you mixing shows or spots? Your post implies spots. In my experience, it's the wild wild west out there, still, regarding spots.

We are leaning toward what you got, with tight average levels...

OT- No Avid at NAB. Any Digidesign presence?

I know they are under the same umbrella, but they are two distinct brands. Just curious if Digidesign will be out there. Anyone?

Re: 5.1 to Lt/Rt plug-in options?

Re: Avid\'s Satellite Video Station???

I saw it at NAB. If it lives up to it's hype, it will replace my aging Doremis and Canopus (canopi?) dual systems (V1's for tape, Canopus for files).

Everything I saw from Digi at NAB was an...

Re: Which Comes First - The Music or the Editing?

I have worked both ways. The edit is always better with temp tracks. Non-audio decisions are made more quickly with temp tracks, etc. etc.

Re: Why is it so hard to find a job in LA?

It's hard to find an entry level audio job everywhere, not just LA. Always has been.

It's a great blend of:

math and creativity;

control, and the unexpected;

precision planning and...

Re: I need a little sound design advice
