This is absolutely ridiculous. Catalina was released on October 7th, 2019. So, now OVER a year ago. And it's not like Avid didn't know that 32-bit functionality was being dropped before...

Corrupted .wav files sound like a hardware issue, not a PT issue. Clone your system to a new hard drive, and run off of that for a week to see if the problem returns.
