Just try it, can always downgrade if it doesn't work for you. Bear in mind 2020.x is not supported on Sierra, random errors may appear.

Re: Racking a Thunderbolt interface

Dont remember, checked the situation in 2014 or so when I rackmounted it. Just take my word for it: use plastic screws to isolate the box from the rack, or you have a disaster waiting to happen....

Re: inexpensive usb interface with 4 mic pre?

Re: Overall slow performance after PT 2020.5 and OS 10.15 update

Backup everything by hand, erase system drive, install OS, restore everything by hand. Do not even think of using Time Machine or Migration Assassin, do everything manually.

Re: Overall slow performance after PT 2020.5 and OS 10.15 update

Re: Overall slow performance after PT 2020.5 and OS 10.15 update

Hi, welcome to the community.

I am pretty sure your problems are due to upgrading your OS, but also your computer two has inadequate memory. Do a clean OS install and try again.

The reason I try to...

Re: How many Pro Tools 10 users in 2019?

PT 10 is not working beyond 10.9.5 and you need at least 10.13.0 for APFS, so no

Re: Sidelined by CPU Problem on 32GB Mac

Any SSD on USB-C will be much better than your spinner, because by design SSD has minimal latency. Unless you need to use practically every library at the same time, that *may* be enough for you....

Re: Sidelined by CPU Problem on 32GB Mac

Sadly, no. If you need good performance, you need external SSD on TB or internal NVMe SSD -- both expensive in larger size.
