Thanks Wizzoboy! I was thinking that capacitors may be the case. I'll have a better look when I get to the shop today.
I did a voltage check on the leads from the power supply to the main board and...

I opened up the 888/24 I/O interface that failed first. Did some troubleshooting and when I disconnect the output ribbon cable, it powers up.
Is it possible that something has failed in the output...
