Re: Hybrid people - how do you get your mix out of PT?

Thanks for your input and sorry for being unclear!

I might be wrong, but I understand you are bouncing instead of printing? If you want to make a change you have to start the bounce all over...

Re: Hybrid people - how do you get your mix out of PT?

Thanks for your suggestions! I tried bounce to disk once, but it felt „wrong“, workflow-wise. I guess clip export is the way to go. I think I can even do that from edit view, just select the clip and...

Re: Hybrid people - how do you get your mix out of PT?

That’s exactly the part I’m interested in. :) Usually I get the file manually from the session folder, but I guess that is not the smartest way to do it. So I came here to check how it’s done by...

Hybrid people - how do you get your mix out of PT?

Using Pro Tools for around a year now with a little hybrid setup and liking it more and more. However, I still don’t have a definitive workflow for getting the printed mix out of the DAW. So far I...

Re: Which IP ports for AVID Control?

Thanks for your reply! Just what I thought. The last option I can think of would be a wired connection to the switch (untagged interface) which hopefully works with PT. When I’m done mixing, I’d just...

Re: Which IP ports for AVID Control?

Hey Frank, did you find a solution yet? I found this thread, because I also got my WiFi in a separate VLAN and no connection between iPad and EuControl. I checked with the Discovery app on my iPad...

Re: Routing folder+VCA

I am looking for exactly the same as the OP!

I use an Artist Mix and an iPad. Before folders I used VCAs basically as population groups, having the iPad only show VCA Masters and selecting the...

Re: Error1721 - can't install Eucon Workstation

Thank you so much for your suggestion! I didn't use Revo, but this did the trick:

Re: Error1721 - can't install Eucon Workstation

Okay, support is not responding. They basically suggested to update windows (four days ago) and did not respond to my replies yet.

Anyway, reinstalling Pro Tools didn't help, which means all of...

Re: Output Dither

Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences!

Earlier you asked for dither plugin suggestions and mentioned some. Due to lack of experience I can't make any viable suggestions, but would be...

Re: Error1721 - can't install Eucon Workstation

I am in touch with support now, seems like this killproc.exe got busted during the crash. Will report back in case someone else runs into this trouble (which I doubt, guess I was unlucky).

Re: Output Dither

Nobody chimed in on "my discussion", I found a big thread about dithering while reading through Paul Frindles posts on GS. It got me interested, so I looked up what PTs manual has to offer in that...

Re: Output Dither

I didn’t record anything. I dragged a snare sample from a commercial sample library into PT. Then I put Sonsig on an insert and pulled the channel fader down 122 db (in a 64 bit environment!). I...

Re: Output Dither

Exactly, this is actually my take away from this thread. I often ride the stem auxes which would „break“ the dither. From now on I will simply add a master to each aux with dither on the last slot...

Re: Output Dither

Okay, unfotunately it's impossible to attach audio clips. Here are three files. A snare with some reverb at -122 db, then bounced and gained up again to make it audible. First bounce is no dither, ...

Re: Output Dither

We can completely agree on that! It's not really that important, but nonetheless I want to consciously make the decision wether to use it or not or at least know what's going on.

If you apply...

Re: Output Dither

I am sending audio inside of PT to my stem Auxes, which happens in 64 bit. The Auxes are routed to the physical outputs of my DAC which receives 24bit streams. Obviously there is a conversion taking...

Re: Output Dither

Those are all valid points, but I understand this place as the support forum for Pro Tools and didn't came here to get lectured if one should dither or not (there is a discussion over at gearslutz)....

Error1721 - can't install Eucon Workstation

Hi,

I "just quickly" wanted to update from 20.6 to 20.6.1 and messed up my system (Win10)
During install I noticed that I had forgotten to close PT, so I did that which resulted in a BSOD....

Re: Output Dither

:confused:Okay, I am obviously no DAW expert, that's why I am asking here.

I am mixing and processing my audio in PT, that happens in 64bit floating point. Then I am sending it out of the box...

Re: Output Dither

Thanks for your reply!

I don't want to bounce a file and know that I would need dither then if it'S a 24bit bounce. I am sending stems out to analog and use outboard inserts via my 24bit adda....

Output Dither

Hi,

I looked up dither in the Reference Guide 2020.3 and want to make sure that I have understood it correctly. It says:
and
So whenever I route something out to the real world (including...

"Global" Notes

Hi,

I got a session with a little wetransfer description of reference tracks etc., and would like to save it as a note inside the session (not as a track note). Is that possible? Didn't find...
