I think Digidesign is definately going the wrong rout by simply saying "It won't work". They could make it work. But they want anyone who wants more tracks to step up to the more expensive versions...

heh...glad to see I'm not the only one who did this. Look a little higher up on the list of devices in Device Manager. Click on 'disk drives' (not 'hard disk controller'), and you'll see...

hmmm....I may be a fool but when I bought the Digi 001 2 days ago, the sales dude at Guitar Center assured me that, though they were not supported on 5.0, 5.1 supported VST and Direct X plugins.
