Thanks Park for all those helpful links. As I'm swamped at the moment, I can't take the time necessary to go through the vast pages of info.

I was just hoping to get a quick answer from someone...

I just upgraded a couple weeks ago to PT v9.0.1

This system is a 003rack, Euphonix MC Transport and MC Mix, Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 quad core, plenty of memory, etc.

Issue #1)
I'm getting this...

Re: Can't get 2.5.6. to work :-(

FWIW, I just upgraded to PT9 today, and my MC Mix and MC Transport were both dead in the water. This fixed it for me. Thanks!

Re: Anybody running PT9 on a 2006 MacBook Pro ?

I just read the above post and realized that the FW buss would be used by the i/o. Forgive me, I'm still transitioning from HD2 to LE and don't have all the hook-ups in my head yet.

Re: Anybody running PT9 on a 2006 MacBook Pro ?

Forgive the stupid question Eric, but why not just use the FW400 and FW800 ports on the box instead of using the ExpressCards for FW? I've never used them, but I always just assumed they were for...

I know I\'m just missing something easy...

I'm trying to convert my stereo HD system to surround, but none of the pop-up options while creating a new session, or when I go to the I/O page give me more than Mono or Stereo.

Anyone else ever...

Re: Virtual Katy Users / Sound Off!

Justin,

Yeah, I saw the 'letter to the editor', and I think it's brilliant. Talk about keeping everyone on the same page. Nicely done.

Re: Virtual Katy Users / Sound Off!

Dave,

Conformalizer is only $599? VK is $2k if I remember correctly. Whoa...

Plus, I love a company that doesn't take itself too seriously while naming a product.

Re: Virtual Katy Users / Sound Off!

Scott,

So I'm clear, have you used Conformalizer with AVID too, or just FCP? This project is on AVID. If so, can I assume you'll still recommend it over the others?

Thx.

Re: Bourne Ultimatum Gets a 2-fer!

Good point Mark. It's easy to forget the the hardest part of a good soundtrack sometimes is good sounding dialogue. We figure that ADR will be our saviour too often. The Michael Clayton team did...

Re: Bourne Ultimatum Gets a 2-fer!

Okay, duh. King Kong, 2006. Master and Commander, 2004. I blanked there for a minute. I know there are many more too.

Re: ProTools Improvements Suggestions from Post Professional

I loved the AudioVision clip editor. And bins. I have also asked for these to come over to PT for many years, but I guess they have their reasons for not writing them in. Frustrating.

I like...

Re: Good SFX Accompaniment to Hollywood Edge

That's great stuff.

I've also gotten a lot of mileage using the Warner Bros and Hanna Barbera collections.
You need these if you're going to do a lot of cartoony stuff.

Warner Bros FX...
