RAM and SSD trade off?

Hi all, does anyone know whether using an SSD for audio recording & an SSD for OS & protools will allow my projects to use less RAM?

Just a thought.

Me too. I keep it for using my Quantum Leap Orchestral sample library, and just use it in Cubase for that sort of thing, then freeze the tracks and import them into ProTools later on.

I had the same issue today; I looked in the System Report, and Mojave identifies it as a device, but PT simply doesn't see it as a useable interface.

On the plus side, it DOES see my old MOTU 828...

Absolutely. My 2011 MacBook was struggling to run PT10 with a small number of plugins. The same machine flies now that I've got PT2018; seems that PT is MUCH more efficient in the new version.

Sorted; did a full, clean reinstall of the OS from an external drive and used the OS 10.12 software from the MOTU website.

Short answer is yes. I followed the instructions on a YT video to install it; basically you have to mod one of the 'deep down' files in your OS to fool the installer that you're running 10.8.5.

Just a quick update - uninstalled and reinstalled PT 10.3.10 and I can run 2 instances of Amplitube, an EZ drummer channel, and Waves IR verb on the master buss and I'm maxing out at about 18% system...
