Re: Bug in new video engine 2019.10

The only thing I noticed is that the new "threshold" for loop playback is now at 1second. Any selection under 1s won't be looped. In 2019.6 and older you could easily loop a 15 frame and lower...

Re: Dialogue Assembly / Conform

It's hard to see from those low res screenshots but to me it looks like you were given a regular CMX EDL which truncates any source names to 8 or 10 characters and 999 events. This leads to wrong...

Re: Error -20021

As mentioned earlier, it's likely automation and you can avoid the re-launch by flattening all lanes in the empty space around the area where the error happened (select and hit command-alt-/). This...

Re: (Q) Netflix making it a requirement to deliver in audio in Atmos...?

It's going to come out of the total budget the film was granted just like before, I suppose.

Re: (Q) Netflix making it a requirement to deliver in audio in Atmos...?

What I meant was: why require (as in force) an Atmos mix when mono was chosen as the sound format by the director for creative reasons to give an extreme example. Of course you can deliver an Atmos...

Re: Error -20021

Yeah, it's the first time I've seen these in such an extreme way. First time ever was during an Atmos theatrical mix 2 years ago but that was a very complex setup with multiple rigs and an RMU. And...

Re: 2019.10_ Video starts then goes black

Ale, I saw you are using BM 11.4.x with OS10.12 . Just to mention that the driver requires at least

macOS 10.15 Catalina or later
or
macOS 10.14 Mojave

Might be worth downgrading to a driver...

Re: (Q) Netflix making it a requirement to deliver in audio in Atmos...?

Hm, not mentioned anywhere in their specs

https://partnerhelp.netflixstudios.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001794307-Netflix-Sound-Mix-Specifications-Best-Practices-v1-1#1_1

To me that wouldn't make...

Re: How to transfer 32bit float into session without clipping

Did you turn down the level with clip gain inside PT so the maximum is below 0dBFs on your PT meter? Anything above will obviously clip your D/A converter depending on your calibration.

Re: Error -20021

Hi there,

so since we have this happening on 5 different rigs we’ve now at least found a temporary fix. Not actually a fix but a trick that temporarily avoids having to restart till the error hits...

Re: BUG 11.2.2: black wink when using pre-roll

It's a NVIDIA GT630 tripple out (2xDP 1xDVI) card I got from SMM in Munich. They did a lot of testing and it was a straight swap out for the original card. It's much smaller too and half as thick.

Re: Difference between ctrl-X and cut all automation?

Not quite. At least not here. ctrl-X will chop away actual audio when you are in waveform view and in that case won't touch any underlying lanes.
If you want it to cut through all lanes and not chop...

Re: Oh no, they removed my favourite undocumented trick!!

Yeah that or "restore last selection" via Eucon but both assume you actually had a selection or did something where you last where.
The old trick was just so bizarre and helpful.

I will miss it....

Steep breakpoint softening

This new function is good but it doesn't really avoid these short filter-sweeps when you've written hard automation changes on clip-boundaries.

What I'd actually like to see is a shortcut that...

Re: Difference between ctrl-X and cut all automation?

Yeah but that won't cut any automation break points, just clip-gain.

Oh no, they removed my favourite undocumented trick!!

I just realised that AVID have removed my favourite undocumented function. It was in there since at least PT5 and saved frustrating moments every day. And it worked up to 2019.6 but now it's gone in...

Re: Difference between ctrl-X and cut all automation?

Thanks! But isn't cut all auto exactly the same? Only that you don't have to show a lane first? I have used cut all auto to create ramps across all visible and invisible lanes for all these years...

Difference between ctrl-X and cut all automation?

Hi,

does anyone know the official name of the ctrl-X shortcut that I believe is undocumented and essentially cuts all automation through all lanes but only when at least one lane of automation is...
