Re: Installation failure, Program starts, then shuts down

And what audio interface do you have in that computer that you want to use with Pro Tools?

Pro Tools (including First) will always work better if you have a audio interface dedicated to Pro Tools...

Re: New Mac Pro setup with OWC Ram and Accelsior SSD with New Mac Pro

volumes within APFS containers look like partitions of old, with increased layout flexibility on disk, and the over-provisioning flexibility mentioned. They can be bootable.

Lots of this stuff is...

Re: Bouncing

There is a lot involved here which we cannot guess.

Like what are you bouncing? The same output you are monitoring? Are you sure?

How exactly are you playing back that bounce? Lots of audio...

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)

RAID 0 *is* streaming from those derived concurrently. Likely better than you would get by manually laying out stuff.

The downsides of RAID 0 is increased chance of drive failure taking everything...

Re: Mbox Pro+Eleven rack via SPDIF doesn'work

Why do you need to slave the Eleven Rack from your interface? Do you have two S/PDIF cables connected both ways?

Do the simplest thing first. Connect one cable from the Eleven Rack S/PDIF Out to...

Re: Reamping with Kemper Profiler

Hi welcome to DUC.

Just for next time, it would be better if you had started a new thread for your problem.. it won't be the same as here.

It's great you have given detail likes you have but...

Re: How old of a MAC Pro if running PT2020? TB3?

And be careful here which Thunderbolt version you are talking about.

The Mac Pro trashcan have Thunderbolt 2
The new Mac Pro Cheesegrater (i.e. 7,1) has Thunderbolt 3.

Thunderbolt 3 hopefully...

Re: 2019 Mac Pro - Separate Audio Disk?

The PCIe/NVMe SSDs that you have in this Mac are so unbelievably fast that you will not run into issues putting sessions (and samples) on the boot drive. I've been asking Avid to update their out of...

Re: Audio and video files drift out of sync

The most obvious guess is the video was not recorded at 30fps but rather 29.97fps. And it's being mangled by playing back at 30 fps. ... lots of information about that difference if you Google for...

Re: Mbox pro with usb conexión?

So we are having to guess a little what exact iMac you have. Presumably it's this one or close. https://everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/specs/imac-core-i5-2.7-21-inch-aluminum-late-2013-specs.html...

Re: Aggregate I/O Issues

I never said the problem you are seeing (which I thought was port naming in Pro Tools) has anything to do with using or not built in inputs or outputs. You described a problem with naming of IO...

Re: Mac Pro Question

All usual advice on HDX/DSP applies....

Why do you want HDX? Is it total IO limits or low latency monitoring?

Are you sure you can't do what you need with native processing?

Are all the...

Re: Pro Tools 2020 with Mojave/reinstatement plan?

Since that's a Thunderbolt 2 computer and current Thunderbolt 3 drives won't work with it your best option is to stick with USB3/3.1 drives. My first choice there would be a Samsung T5....

Re: Pro Tools 2020 with Mojave/reinstatement plan?

I said pretty clearly the best way to do this, and you are asking something different. Why are you talking about wiping anything? To save yourself from potentially total loss of a working system by...

Re: Pro Tools 2020 with Mojave/reinstatement plan?

And as for how you get back to something stable if moving to Mojave has problems .... well as always the easiest way is you never shoot yourself in the head to start with.

Grab a spare drive or...

Re: PROTOOLS 2019.5 Direct or Aggregate Device

Re: Aggregate I/O Issues

Aggregate IO is a band-aid and may not work reliably for what you need.

Ideally you would lock the clocks together on both interfaces, if they have clock inputs or wordclock support.

Avid does...
