Thanks for the info...I still dont get the entirety of the Logic issue. So yeah I have mixed heavy sessions with heavy plugs and automation in PT. In Logic I have just been writing and not gotten to...

Good to hear. I write better songs in Logic but I have heard what you are talking about mentioned on Logic forums. The video however went over my head...sounded like audio drop outs?

Using only Logic I always run latest everything. I suppose an advantage of having Logic. Whereas was always horrified of upgrades of (like you say.. drivers, os, pt). I hear what you are saying...

lol I jumped ship from PT about 2 yrs ago and have been using Logic Pro X (latest) and OS X (latest) with perfect performance.

One thing I always hated about PT was the ongoing will this work...

Pro Tools 9 MIDI Studio

So in Pro Tools 9 > MIDI Studio > I select IN and OUT for the synth hooked to in and out on my iConnectMIDI2 > all good on MIDI i/o

quit PT > relaunch > IN and OUT in MIDI Studio that i just setup...

Then on a midi track I loads its patch names from midnam file. All works fine.

anyone gone through this pain?

orig session was left with all midi tracks they did not render.

it was done with K2000 and a Triton
K2000 and Triton both have AUX Inputs
most tracks are not...

not sure if they are SD2 but they are big sizes plus they are my old sessions so I know they are actual sound files

old session audio files wont load + cant play the audio files in Finder.

the audio files dont have file extensions.

i tried adding both .wav and .aiff and they would not open.

I wont be upgrading. logic is 200 bucks. its not even worth reading all the bloated options text ... enough to make me ill. the assumption that we have time to read all that is super insulting.

less tedious snapping?

sorry but i am used to NLEs that snap strongly to ruler marks. PT doesnt really snap until zoomed way in...any way to get better / quicker snapping while moving stuff around?

so i am generating midi from external app. it just makes midi files.

so when i drag the file to timeline pro tools renames it to MIDI

any way to keep the original name?

it is amazing that i can not use a key command to land a point on zero - like in NLEs and almost any other app you can use modifiers to "set at default" and to "constrain" while moving...major time...
