OK, I installed 6.2.2 and I was able to do some quick testing, and everything worked. Unfortunately it was getting late, and I had to put it away for the night, and I expect it will be another week...

I do not have Peak, but I will try some other programs that accept AIFF to test. The one thing I did notice is that 'Get Info' in the Finder offers a "Preview" tab, and "good" AIFF files...
