Re: How to record 16 tracks at once?

Nice resource, that website. Thanks bad habit guy.

I have the Presonus LT and like it a lot. Good quality, pretty reasonable price. A friend has the Behringer and likes it, it's cheaper.

The...

Re: How to get rid of String Squeal

You could also put a volume envelope on that track and drop volume for the squeak bits since it is unlikely any strings are vibrating during those parts.

Re: Best deal on DigiMax LT - Where?

I'll second a vote for riksmusic.com. Those guys are great, just call them or use their website to get a quote. I bought my LT from them and it was even cheaper then musician's friend. I got mine...

Re: Portable ProTools please

Good idea. I do like the Mbox, but for more portable convenience what about a pcmcia/cardbus card with a headphone jack and volume control on it. I thought M-Audio or Creative made something like...

Re: This is PURE GENIUS!

That is a very smart move all around, perfect price point. I am sure if the music is good and they play it in the shop that helps move the product fast. Like that part in the movie high fidelity...

Re: Recording Live Concert

Good point, but if you are going through hardware pres with balanced outs for the house board and there's only 4 channels, it might not be necessary if the house sound person is flexible and OK with...

Re: Recording Live Concert

I will second Nico's suggestions and add that you should set your levels conservatively and a bit on the low side during soundcheck. Many musicians play/sing louder when the actual performance starts...

Re: Creative Process---Stopped!!!

Did you try using XP's built in disk mgmt tool instead of partition magic to format your audio drive? Can't recall what it's called and am on win2k at work, but it shouldn't be hard to find.

As...

Re: OT: Directly connecting Mac to PC via ethernet...

Seems the easiest thing is to buy a 4 port/wireless dsl/cable like the $50 Linksys type devices.

Re: Firewire A/B switch?

A Mac and PC coexisting peacefully? That's crazy talk.

This looks a bit suspicious, and is the only thing I found in a short search.

Re: USB Cable length limit

The suggested (non-Digidesign) limit is 16 feet for a single cable, or if you are putting together two non-active cables. You could try a 10' usb extension cable (Belkin makes them, amazon has them)...

Re: Can someone test a VST plugin for me?

Ha! Well I could probably play the triangle for you. If I find a uke player I'll let you know. I know a drummer too, but he is a bit unreliable.

If you like DMB style music, don't miss the Green...

Re: do shure sm 57s work real good for recording drums

Re: MIDI RECORDING

That makes sense to me, but I would still like to see an option to do non-real time bounce to disk. Every other audio/sequencer software I've used has a quick bounce to WAV. I really like PTLE...

Re: OT: Mics for strings

Hey David,

Glad to hear from another fan of the diy omnis. I can't say enough about them. I hope to try mine in some outdoor settings at some point too.
