I do use the space bar to preview or audition the fade.

I'm running PT LE 6.9.2 on my Powerbook. OS 10.4.
There is no gray time line visable while auditioning a fade in the fades window. I am told by Digi that this is indeed a bug and have been inquiring...

Your reference is the house sync. The USD should receive this through the video sync in. (And set for video sync) Your postional reference is LTC which is an audio signal and is plugged into the LTC...

I'm not sure about the grinding noise but check your cable for any crossed or bent pins. I had this problem recently and discovered a couple of bent ones. The drive would show up durring a scan but...
