Upgrading to a new computer

Hi gang....i am currently using a g5 2.0 with 2 megs of ram..osx 10.5.8..i want to get a new computer but am uncertain whihc one would most likely fit the bill....its between either a macbook pro 17"...

yes the 004 is coming out in december...thats why mbox pro is on hold.

If u can deal with the dongle and the option kits arent of any value to u..go with the m version...u will find that the audio interface is a bit better then theirs...just my 2 cents worth.

try presonus studio one pro....its almost like logic but has better plugins and masters also in one application....sound quality excellent..

Pro Tools 8 le, logic pro 9 and studio one pro

An interesting tri-combo....it would be nice if one program had the ease of the interface of pro tools 8 le...the midi instruments of logic and the sound and the plugins and mastering of the studio...

The presonus studio one daw has alot of good effects processors....anyone tried this daw yet?...salesman says its better then logic and will give ptle a run for its money...anyone tried it?

Gee..if i follow this correctly...i think u should try prosonus studio one...its the best of both worlds and sounds great.

you should have included prosonus studio one pro too in this conversations....that being said..i use all three....sound being subjective to everyone's ears...i would agree pt does sound a hare...

I have the same computer..running on osx 10.5.8...ptle 8.0...no problems..it will work!!!...didnt need any of the other upgrades (8.01 etc)..8.0 right out of the box works fine!!

What can one expect if they purchase a I7 macbook pro and pro tools 8 le?...in the sense of VI's?....guitar rig pro 4...sampletank..etc..etc...how many tracks can one expect?...how about the cpu...

I s anyone using reason 3 in pro tools 8 le?...if so is working ok or did they have to upgrade to reason 4?....i heard the rewire usnit is the same in both 3+4.
