Hey everyone

I connected the soundcard and monitors to a windows laptop and there was no hum.
So it has to be something on the mac that is causing this.

Can anyone suggest another remedy?

I also tested it on a windows system. When I play anything through the fast track duo and the same monitors, there is no hum. Only happens on the mac.

The hum starts as soon as anything starts that generates sound.

IE: Hum starts when launching ProTools
Hum starts when playing video on quicktime.

Hi there

The speakers and computer are all plugged into the same multiplug.
The fast track sound card is powered through USB.
I am using TRS cables between the speakers and the interface.

I am running Protools 12 with the Avid fast track duo and rokit 5 powered monitors.

As soon as I launch Protools, the speakers starts to give a high pitched hum. This remains constant...

Hi James. I tried opening pro tools first and then opening the session I saved as a 7-9 session in Pro Tools 11 and it still doesn't work. I get the same error message as posted earlier....

Thanks James. I will try that tomorrow. Perhaps doing it that way will make a difference. I will let you know if it works.

Thanks everyone. I am saving a copy in and am then selecting it to be saved a a 7-9 version. Yet it still refuses to open up in pt 8.

I work on Pro Tools 11 at home and on Pro Tools 8 at work.

I have a problem opening up sessions at work (on Pro Tools 8) that I saved at home on Pro Tools 11 as a Pro Tools 7-9...
