Re: What amount of HUI support exists?

Are these in addition to what is documented on the MCU template for PT?
I'm home today, so can't look, but if it would help, I'll scan my template for you.

Re: Am I stupid? No Waves plugins after update.

If the person who wrote the instructions on the Waves download site worked for me, he'd be an ex employee.

Thanks, for pointing out the AAX shell download. It sure never registered in my mind....

Re: Mackie MCU Pro (trouble connecting via USB)

It seems like there is one way connection via usb. Check to ensure that the midi out setting in PT for the HUI is set to the USB midi port.

Re: Workflow Question

Thanks, Stig...I'll see how that works. I need to read up on what a tick based audio track is exactly.

Workflow Question

I have a scheme that works, but feel like there must be a better (more automatic) method to accomplish this.

I just finished a project recording practice spelling tests for a regular customer.

Re: Mixdown on Outboard Console - How Do You ROUTE?

If you mean me, yes. I love the sound of my console. It's a DDA DMR 12.
No latency concerns, access to my outboard comps, fx. easier to set up my Furman headphone system ( The HDS6 4 channel +...

Re: Mixdown on Outboard Console - How Do You ROUTE?

I don't use Nuendo anymore at all. I got pissed off during the initial 4.0 debacle, and stayed with 3.2 till last year. I guess it might have worked, but I never bothered to set the control room up...

Re: Mixdown on Outboard Console - How Do You ROUTE?

I use Soundforge for the mixdown computer.

I'm an old geezer, and I tried eliminating the 2d workstation, but it got to be a pain switching from listening to the multitrack to listening to the...

Re: Mixdown on Outboard Console - How Do You ROUTE?

What I did was get a 2x2 interface to another computer which is my 2 track machine.

So, outputs 1-24 from my interface to tape returns 1-24 of the console. \

Tape 1 out from the console to the...

Re: Dual monitors issue

Yes, it's a PT design choice. In Reason, I can undock the mixer and move it outside the parent window. If it's possible in Reason, it should be possible in PT.
Vegas allows the same thing with the...

Re: Routing Analog Mixer

I got caught in that problem about 5 years ago. I was able to pay a $75.00 fee and they cross shipped me the newer 424 card. Deal was it fit in the card slot, but I'd get random crashes. Newer rev of...

Re: Routing Analog Mixer

For some stupid reason, MOTU Drivers don't install properly with the PCI424 card in the computer.

I just had to remove the card and reinstall the latest drivers myself after a screwed up install...

Re: Routing Analog Mixer

So then your hardware connections are OK. In PT go to setup I/O and define an input and output for each channel. The 24IO should already be selected as your audio driver and all 24 channels should be...

Re: Pro Tools won't open

This same thing happened to me, I had not backed up a drive image, so needed a format/reinstall to resolve.

PT 9 Won't start anymore?

I thinnk I'm going to restore to an older backup, but since I made the suggested performance changes to Win7, PT 9 no longer starts. I double click, the busy circle thing spins, I see hard disk...

Re: MOTU 24 I/0 + NVIDIA GeForce

I'm running a PCI424 with 2xHD192s attached. The drivers seem to work well.
Since the 24I/O attaches to the PCI424 you Should be OK.

Re: Stripping bleed sounds out from a recording (Drums)

Agrees David. The only reason I'd print the ducked tracks is so that I wouldn't have to spend too much time adjusting. Get it where it's killing 90+% of the unwanted snare hits and catch the rest...

Re: Stripping bleed sounds out from a recording (Drums)
