check start > control panel > system > advanced > performance settings > advanced
set both circles to the RIGHT side
if the paging file is > 1024MB (it's usually 1.5 x installed...

make sure you've installed a version of Pro Tools LE with that is compatible with your version of Mac OS.
10.2.8 needs PTLE 6.1.2 or lower
10.3.x needs PTLE 6.2 or higher

Setups - preferences - operation,
where it says Use All Available Space, choose Limit to... and enter 15 minutes or so.
