Re: New Mac Pros are coming!!! :)

It is good news indeed, but I think I'll be waiting a while as my iMac is performing quite well and I'm not in a position to want/need PTHD.

Am I the only one?

So I bought a mac about 2 weeks ago and got everything up and running no problem. I go to do a mixdown of a session I tracked last week and when I went to go use a non WAVES plugin, ALL of my presets...

Re: Waves 9 question regarding the new authorization ssytem

I've been on V9 since 30 min after release. It actually does what Waves claimed it would. I have Mercury + Studio Classics so on V8 Waves added about 1:30 onto load in time. V9 has it down to 7-10...

That's normally how upgrades work
Not on my end

Re: Interesting...I kinda like PT 10...

I must add though (even though I didn't do it), 99% of the time FOLLOW AVID'S ADVICE ON OPTIMIZATION. It does help.

Re: Interesting...I kinda like PT 10...

That machine hasn't been optimized yet (with the exception of disabling visual themes and running in admin). I'm lazy and haven't gotten that far on that machine. If I run into issues then I might do...

Re: Interesting...I kinda like PT 10...

I always leave plugs enabled when tracking....as long as the track latency is not above 1024 i'm fine with a 128-256 buffer.

Re: Interesting...I kinda like PT 10...

Here is another one for you. Working on it today. No plugs on the vocal chain though. What you are looking at is the instrument (audio) tracks. No VI's on this one. What you don't see is the 30 vocal...

Re: Interesting...I kinda like PT 10...

I prefer the SSL hands down. Having worked on the actual console it sounds pretty darn accurate. That being said, the Channel Strip in PT10 is pretty good for not being an emulation of outboard gear.

Re: Interesting...I kinda like PT 10...

My average session is 85 audio tracks 2 VI's, 7 Amp Sims, and around 140 RTAS plugs. I've tried this on multiple systems and still come back to PT handling my session better than Sonar, Cubase, and...

Re: Protools vs Sonar or reaper

I use Reaper 4.0 and Sonar X1 Producer. I'm actually newer to PT and prefer it hands down over the other two. It is more intuitive and the elastic audio preservation is handled much better in PT. If...

Re: Izotope Ozone 5

I'm curious of what you guys think of Ozone Vs. Waves LL-316?
I use the 316 all the time on my master chain. I'm thinking of going advanced just for the Individual Plugs feature.

I'll give that a go. I'm tracking right this second so when the band takes a break I'll make the change and see if that helps. Keeping the fingers crossed.
