It's an extra step, but you can always use LISTENO on your master fader, send a link to your phone to listen, then on your phone route the audio to AIRPLAY.

Actually, I'm not.

I did install it a year ago, but gave up because of this issue, so I uninstalled it, but this still lingers.

I ended up putting my Mini on a Laptop cooling pad just to help with ventilation. Not sure it makes much of a difference but can't hurt..

Exactly. I felt it was a worthwhile experiment trying as I'm an HDX user, and I had 2 weeks to return the MacMini if it didn't work. Ended up working great for me, but obviously non-HDX guys...
