Re: 2019 ultimate and heat

Hi I had this problem after installing 2019.5 and fixed it after seeing the instructions above (deactivate, reactivate, synchronize). Thanks!

Re: Weird quantize result? Midi in sample mode

Thanks--there's no problem now actually switching it over to tics. Was just definitely an odd result

Re: Weird quantize result? Midi in sample mode

hmm OK not just quantizing; moving any notes within a clip independently from the other notes wipes all the other notes. You can slide the whole clip around on the timeline, but basically don't mess...

Weird quantize result? Midi in sample mode

Yes I'd normally be in tick mode, but shouldn't it work anyway? I selected some midi notes of a track in the piano roll, went to quantize them, and voila all the other notes disappeared! (And no...

Re: Envelope follower in pro tools 12 hd

Inverse gate with a side-chain? Any compressor plug-in with attack-release settings has your envelope right there. Rather than control a single parameter of wet-dry percentage, it could give you more...

Re: CLA MixDown - 2 bus comp flavors?

Funny I went through 3 pages of replies here, and no-one went to the manual for the plug-in. It doesn't use the word "flavor", but for that 1-2 Glue switch it says:

"There are two compressor...

Re: Changing sample rate of existing project

Yes look at the menu item under "File" named "Save Copy As..." and look over the options there. You can tell it to make a copy of the complete session with all the audio files converted to your...

Re: MARKER problem

interesting seeing this thread because just last night I had an issue (I have a Kensington Expert wireless USB mouse) where I wanted to rename some markers by double-clicking on the marker tabs in...

Re: When changing tempo - the grid do "jump" some bars

You will see a jump if you are in playback, and you change the tempo manually by entering a new value in the BPM window. There are many variables here, such as whether the track is set to ticks or...

Re: New to protools, and I'm super confused about instruments???

Other DAW's particularly Logic, Reason, and I think StudioOne probably have better instant gratification instruments supplied with them. ProTools has always been the pro editing and mixing app of...

Re: Retrospective MIDI record not working

Yes i know how Quickpunch works, and I like it a lot. I'm suggesting a level beyond, where you don't even have to catch it while it's still in playback. That way it would be just like Retrospective...

Re: Retrospective MIDI record not working

How annoying is that? I'd rather be able to leave Quickpunch on and not think about it. Also, why not have retrospective record for audio as well, like if record is activated on any tracks, that your...

Re: Has anybody used 3rd party virtual mixing consoles as front-end for lower latency

Yeah, it makes sense that I can't miraculously get two different buffer speeds out of the same interface. I wonder if I could do this with say a cheaper Focusrite box that doesn't have DSP in it,...

Re: Has anybody used 3rd party virtual mixing consoles as front-end for lower latency

Also to be clear I'm only talking about using it as an input chain. Also I'm not talking about regular plugs like Slate's "Virtual Console" to emulate the sound of a console. I mean an actual...

Re: Has anybody used 3rd party virtual mixing consoles as front-end for lower latency

Presumably you could configure a whole other DAW to do this, but you'd still need some 3rd party pipe solution like Jack, which looks like it's built into the Harrison app. It also seems like...

Has anybody used 3rd party virtual mixing consoles as front-end for lower latency?

For a totally native system, (running HD Native in my case) the idea of the UA or Waves console has me thinking that even if an interface doesn’t offer external DSP, that some virtual console running...

I love how Buckingham's gear is all real stock, Boss pedals, Fishman pickups--except for that one odd-looking guitar. I saw Fleetwood Mac in Berlin a couple years ago, and he slayed.

And yes the...

Re: Click Track Extremely Loud

yeah at first glance it just sounds like an automation point got added somewhere. Set the automation to "none" for the click track, then turn it down and see if it still happens.

Re: Tape plugin, what you guys using?

Remember Heat is also console transformer warmth. I like the AC plug a lot, and usually use the Swiss Modern. The Kramer is really specific to me, I'm not sure I would trust it as a master bus...
