Re: protools 2020 Windows 10 fresh install - Crashing with graphic glitching

Have you tried temporarily disabling any network connections? There was a recent issue with Pro Tools sending usage data to Avid.

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Good question. I left them on auto for the hell of it. I'll do some fussing with those today.

I've been stress testing with the intel extreme utility as well. I'm not sure which is the best for...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Nice. Have you done any benchmarking with Cinebench or the like? Are you using HWInfo64 to check your power and temps?

There is always more tweaking to do to get that last little iota of...

Re: Video Engine in PT11.1

I upgraded to 11.1 yesterday. HDX on an HP z800. Took the plunge before laying back an hour long show. It's running really well. Fixed an aspect ratio issue I was having and has been very stable so...

Re: Mavericks tagging for sound library

Interns!

Have them tag the files in Mavericks and add notes in the workspace. This way they get some basic PT and MacOS experience. See which you prefer and go with that.

Soundminer is very...

Re: HD PT 8 to 10/11 HD vs non-HD Upgrade question

Sounds like a PT 11 native rig would serve you well.

Re: OMF Issues in PT11

I received my first OMF from a FCP rig today and was able to open it in PT11.0.2 HD on Win7Pro only after renaming the file to remove spaces and additional periods. It was a 7 min piece with audio...

Re: PT11 HDX 9-Pin Machine Control - greyed out

Ah ha!
The iLok license has to be there in order for it to work. Turns out, it's not a free option, but my rep can't sell it anymore. Weird.
Had to move our licenses from the iLok 1 to the iLok 2....

PT11 HDX 9-Pin Machine Control - greyed out

We've put PT11HDX in 2 of our suites this week and are putting them through their paces. The trouble is that in Setup > Peripherals > Machine Control the option for 9-Pin Machine Control (Deck...

Re: Concerns moving from PTLe8 XP to PT10 Win7

1. There is no disadvantage to going with the 64bit flavor of W7. Perhaps a future version of PT will be 64 bit. :) You will need to upgrade some drivers, but this is very easy.

2. Your...

Re: Serious Midi Issues PT10

Sound like it might be some mismatched I/O assignments in the session. I'd double check where all that MIDI is supposed to be headed in the MIDI track output assignments.

Maybe create new tracks...

Re: PT10 more stable PT9? ... or about the same?

PT8 was very stable on my HP xw8400 under XP Pro, PT10 on Win7Pro 64 has proven to be just as reliable. Took some head scratching to get it installed and working, but now it's very solid.

Re: Digi 003 not recognize by system AGAIN =(

I had lost communication btwn my xw8400(win7 64 bit) and the 003 at some point during the upgrade from PT 8.0.5 to PT 10. I had installed the latest 003 drivers but was getting no love from PT...
