Re: Discovery Global Tech Spec vers 4.0.

I'm doing 2 Discovery shows at the moment and am finding this part of the spec most frustrating. I'm Constantly having to massage the levels when heading into a quiet section (i.e. in between items)...

Re: Batch consolidating regions?

I was interested in this too. I wanted to normalise hundreds of different regions separately, but each region had a fade which caused problems. I did find a workaround which some may find useful.

Re: Another mixminus question

Great, thanks for your input guys. I'll just mix it low from now on so not to cause trouble down the line.

I think the sticky you refer to is a thread that I started with a similar question, I'll...

Another mixminus question

I am running into a dilemma when mixing and not sure what to do.

Like a lot of people I mix TV shows without VO firstly to give my mixminus stem, then go back and add dips for my mix.

What...

Quick 192 / 96 digital question

Hi, can anyone tell me if the AES outputs on the 192 and 96 IO can be fed separately to the SPDIF outputs? I.e. different sends coming from the AES to the SPDIF outputs. I'm away from work for a week...

Re: Paste at sync point

By "spot to sync point" do you mean the the ctrl, shift+click steps that I outlined in my first post?

If so, I'm looking for a way to copy and then paste at sync point, avoiding the need for the...

Re: Paste at sync point

Yeah, seems obvious doesn't it? So much so that I went over the manual a couple of times and the DUC here. Would make spotting repeating SFX such as "whooshes" etc so much quicker in the long run.

Paste at sync point

Is there any way to paste a sync point identified region so that the sync point appears where the cursor is in the edit window?

No sure how clear that is, so here's what I want to do:

I'd like...

Re: Strange/slow screen redraw with PT 10

Thank you!!!!!!! You have made my day!

I recently upgraded to PT9 from PT8 and had been regretting it since. It felt really sluggish and always a step behind me. Coincidentally, I posted this...

Re: Sluggish scrolling?

To anyone interested I have found a fix, thanks to DUC user "StewartK" who posted with a similar problem.

The issue has something to do with the way that Mac OSX refreshes the screen using...

Sluggish scrolling?

Does anyone else notice that the mousewheel scrolling (I'm using an Apple Mighty Mouse) is a bit sluggish in PT9?

I've just upgraded from v8 on Leopard to v9 on Snow Leopard. The scrolling whizzed...

Undipped music stem

I'm trying to clarify exactly what is an "undipped" music stem. Over the past few years I have interpreted it as music without any dips whatsoever - for on-screen dialogue or vo.

However,...

PT envelope generator?

I read somewhere, a year or so ago about a PT plugin that could generate some kind of envelope curve based on audio it received. I can't for the life of me remember what it was though. Does anyone...

Re: Mix minus narration question

Thanks for the replies guys, yeah it's the different dipping that's killing me. The stems I have to produce are always undipped, meaning I have to leave the music in the voiceover spaces undipped.

Mix minus narration question

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what is meant by "mix minus narration". From what I understand, it is basically your mix, minus the voice-over but with original sync dialogue left in place.

I have...

Applying edits to multiple tracks

I'm thinking of editing mistakes out of a multitrack recording of a band, by cutting out entire bars, repeating sections etc.

As there are 16 tracks of audio, this is no mean feat.... I thought a...

Re: Logic 7 DVD (Coming Soon) Request Thread

Well I use logic on a seperate machine, with PT on the other. Something showing how to sync them both together would be good. I.e. hit play on PT and logic is in sync, and vice versa.

I'm basically trying to get rid of latency from my system as much as possible. Do the ADAT ins and...
