Re: Macintosh moving to ARM

You are talking about terms used by Apple to mean continued hardware service and parts support. That has nothing for example to do with new OS availability, and wildly mistates the software support...

Re: Windows 10 Home or Pro

If I was building stuff I would test it with Pro Tools as early as possible. I would get most components installed but not rush to install all the software until Pro Tools runs OK. Some folks spend...

Re: Windows 10 Home or Pro

If you walk into a typical PC builder and ask them to build you a PC they will likely know nothing about proper setup for Pro Tools, and you may end up with a mess. They will also likely know nothing...

Re: Latency Problem all of the sudden

OK plugin test is helpful but to be clear what do you mean by 'delete'. You you normally want to do is move the suspect plugin file outside the plugin folder. And then trash prefs and restart pro...

Re: Latency Problem all of the sudden

So if you want to do software monitoring you need to get your system set up so it does work at a buffer size with acceptable latency.

People here are not going to give you micro-detailed...

Re: Latency Problem all of the sudden

OK what is the buffer size and sample rate are you running running at... that tells you what latency to expect... you can compare that to what you see. You can also put your timeline in sample...

Re: Pro Tools Crashed and I think I know why

Windows PC are a bit of a crap shoot, unless you know somebody using an exact model as you want it's hard to know how well they will work.

The best option if you are technical is to build your own...

Re: Windows 10 Home or Pro

For me it is all about disabling Windows updates. So Pro. But more importantly, build your own system, install a clean version of Windows, and take your time manually managing what drivers are...

Re: Latency Problem all of the sudden

No disk will not be causing signal to 'fade out'. But before you mess around with anything do make sure you have your sessions safely backed up.

You are reporting several problems. They may or may...

Re: Macintosh moving to ARM

Uh where are you getting the 5-7 year number from?

AFAIK Apple has refused to give any specific time lime for ongoing macOS support on Intel Macs. Apple execs have painfully avoided any commitment...

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?

OK then now we know that is supposed to works. It would be good to see the actual plugins physically installed in the folder.

Wasn't there also something about getting Reason in 64-bit mode as...

Re: just one song won't respond

Classic sign of a corrupted session. Easiest recovery should be using your last saved working backup safely copied off to another drive/location. Do you have backups? Something in Timemachine or...

Re: Macintosh moving to ARM

What is the meaning of life?

Migrating a Mac app to ARM and migrating to iPad are orders of magnitude apart in complexity. And why would Avid invest in a more low-end/consumer focused DAW use when...

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?

Again -- What are all the plugins that show up listed ***under Propellerhead***? ie. organize plugins by Manufacturer.

Reason 8. Does that even support AAX-64? I'd be surprised, if you want to...

Re: New PC, crackling audio on playback when dragging windows inside PT

Yes but Pro Tools does not care about beasts. It is a fickle. It's not always about raw horsepower, and very often proper setup.

What sample rate are you running at? What GPU? (drivers up to...

Re: HDX-II What are the chances?

Avid picked up Dante but it was in MTRX already from DAD. I have no idea how much Avid wanted that or if it just came along for the ride at no effort. They were more involved in AVB in S3L and that...

I think everybody here gets that, the discussion here is not really about that. It is about why bother including the LLM Hardware mixer on the HD Native hardware. And likely how infrequently it’s...
