Re: Lost everything even though I saved session

Just a wild guess:
If you're using something like Chronosync maybe you had set it to mirror the session but accidentally set the direction to the original instead of the external drive. So that way...

Re: Using a computer monitor for video?

Pro on the cheap (for 5,1 mac users)

Decklink SDI plus 30€ SDI to HDMI converter on the back of your TV. Has genlock, no fans on the card and works like a charm. These are great as they can be...

Re: Dante Virtual Sound Card Increasing Latency

I'm getting an average of 1.3ms with DVS 4.1.1.3 into my Xilica Controller with no fluctuation. Xilica set to 250microseconds. DVS at the minimum 4ms. This is with 2 hops across a Cisco SG350 in my...

Re: 32bit SRC bug

Ha, they already said that 2 decades ago when HD started to thrive. Now we're still doing 23.98 for 100% streaming shows...

Re: 7.1.4 hardware metering option

That's the thing about these barebones PCs: They are so small you can attach them to the VESA mount to the back of the monitor so the only cabling you need is power and network. They are only in the...

Re: 7.1.4 hardware metering option

Haven't tried it myself but how about one of those bare-bones mini PCs (no fans, and super-small) with some simple VST-host that runs your favourite metering plugin? (RTW or whatever?) Just an...

Re: Time Shift Plug-In fps change

I wrote that in my last post.

1) import stems (import session data or import file) with SRC option on and select preset and check sync with head and tail pops.

2) correct pitch to taste with...

Re: Time Shift Plug-In fps change

I wouldn't use any maintain-pitch-algos (time-stretch or squeeze) in one run. Almost all of them alter sync in favour of sound quality. Resulting in a rubbery looking sync even when the file itself...

Re: video sync offset - no quarter frame precision

Hi Gregor,

same here. that's normal if your rig is fully gen-locked. You can't offset the video in between frame values when the clocking is forcing it to a full frame grid. I think it's even...

Re: AAE - 20021 was encountered?

Video on other Satellite rig. The offending session without video yes.

Funny you mention this today. After a couple of weeks without the error, it came back today...only once so far.

But the...

Re: AAF wirth MFX Audio LOST METADATA

Cantar is a special case. You don't see the meta-data because it's not in the files, they only punched it into the bin database. you need to expand to the original BWAVs. The Aaton requires an import...

Re: AAF wirth MFX Audio LOST METADATA

have you got view/clip/channel-name active?

In terms of the timeline of course you only get what's in the AAF track-lay, for the other tracks you need to use the expand function. It's part of the...

Re: AAF wirth MFX Audio LOST METADATA

MC always uses split mono files, unless I think they are using some linked workflow which has it's own pitfalls. I don't think it's often used. Split mono is perfectly normal.

There's no easy way...

Re: AAF wirth MFX Audio LOST METADATA

Hm, I simply double click on the AAF select (link where possible) and then relink and point PT to where the media is. No need to add all of it to PT first. I never use 'force' or copy as it breaks...

Loop playback with picture broken in 20.9+20.9.1?

We're seeing errors after about 10 rounds of loop playback. PT throws up some kind of "too slow or not enough CPU" and stops. Happens on every rig that's on 20.9 and 20.9.1.

Disable video hardware...

Re: AAE - 20021 was encountered?

Yes, it's random and there's no fix other than restarting the session. But it will come back. It's totally random and has been like that for at least 3 years now.

Re: Which IP ports for AVID Control?

I'll leave this here in case someone else gets stuck.

Support has gotten back to me and said that virtual interfaces are not supported. Case closed for now I guess.

Re: Which IP ports for AVID Control?

Yes it does in my current setup. I'll have to change the network to the old one (with that subnet on a virtual interface) for comparison.

I do know that even on the old setup Spancontrol ( for...

Re: Which IP ports for AVID Control?

Thanks Eddie,

I have it setup that way. The iPad are on their own SSID and VLAN on the Ubiquity AP and land on the same VLAN that has the DAWs on them.

After hours of packet capture and...

Re: Which IP ports for AVID Control?

Ok so I did some more digging and it turns out that as soon as the network carrying the Eucon traffic is set to a virtual interface (tagged VLAN under network prefs) the Eucon client will not see the...

Which IP ports for AVID Control?

Hi,

we're having trouble connecting iPad to DAWs and I was wondering which ports need to be open for AVID Control to work?

There a Ubiquity AP in the network and iPads are on a closed VLAN with...
