Re: PT24.3: Switching from classic to modern fold-down boosts playback level

I've definitely seen some crashes on "restore from session" to all tabs in I/O setup. Double mappings not yet at least not that I noticed.

Re: 6-channel SMPTE/ITU files not "re-ordered" when dropped into PT

The easiest workaround is to convert those sounds into split-monos and/or convert them into SMPTE order files (with a third party app) which is PT's standard anyway (only the meters and tracks have...

Re: PT24.3: Switching from classic to modern fold-down boosts playback level

I have narrowed it down to a (corrupt?) I/O setup. Only when restoring mine from the session it can be reproduced on other rigs. I made a new session, cleared out the entire, I/O and re-imported all...

Re: PT24.3: Switching from classic to modern fold-down boosts playback level

Nope, importing all into a clean new session does the same thing. I also deleted prefs and tried again and the same thing happened. Looked closer at my meters and I think 6dB more after switching...

Re: PT24.3: Switching from classic to modern fold-down boosts playback level

Thanks for testing. Odd one, I'll try and import all tracks into a new session. Maybe something weird has been carried over from the old template...

PT24.3: Switching from classic to modern fold-down boosts playback level

A little heads up.

I opened an older session template that was set to "classic" downmix mode and after changing it to "modern" with default parameters made the entire session play back around 6dB...

Re: Upcoming Price Adjustments

Well if you buy a car and the price has gone up on May 1st, it won't go up "upon buying" it in October. The price has been the new price for months.

Please read the original text I quoted and tell...

Re: Upcoming Price Adjustments

My point is not about the "if" and "how much". I know that prices only have one direction (while production budgets move into the other direction). My point is about the "when" and flow of info so I...

Re: Upcoming Price Adjustments

I know that but this is not a cool way of informing B2B customers with confusing info. Businesses rely on planning their spend ahead not with a lead time of 3 weeks let alone being informed with...

Re: Upcoming Price Adjustments

I shall quote the official AVID info for you again:

"Pro Tools Ultimate Perpetual Upgrade Plan** will be $499 USD effective May 1, 2024 (from $399 USD)—the new price will go into effect for...

Re: Upcoming Price Adjustments

What does this mean? When my renewal is in October I can still buy support plans for the old price till then, so I don't have to do that before May 1st?

Re: Still can't get my tablet to talk Eucon

I'm glad you fixed it but this (computer as wifi hotspot) is definitely not necessary.
The fact that this fixed it for you is a sign that the issue is somewhere in your router config as your wifi...

Re: Marker behavior broken in 2023.6

This works just fine over here. CTRL-click onto a marker in the timeline makes it jump to the cursor position. If you want it to work in the marker window, ctrl-click on it and select the update...

Re: Unable to communicate with SYNC HD (24.3)

I think I might have found a pattern but I'll have to keep an eye on in case it's coincidence.
The frame rate mismatch error seems to come up in the morning after starting the machine, launching PT...

Re: Unable to communicate with SYNC HD (24.3)

I haven't had it for 3 days now. Before it was more or less daily. Seems like it has settled down without me changing anything. Maybe now it goes back to 2-3 times a month like under 23.12. Will...

Re: Sync X - Help Understanding.

Not only to remote control the settings. ProTools needs to "know" when exactly to correlate the position of the audio and video in your timeline to the external clock edge. There has to be some kind...

Re: NAS- use SMB or NFS shares to connect?

Yeah it's pretty much an in-place cross-grade. Just select the other update train and it will migrate everything. Went pretty easy when I did it. Just make sure your hardware runs on linux before you...

Re: Pro Tools 2023 Apple Silicon Native - Video Engine/Vi Performance

My tip was helping on the 5,1 Mac. I have since moved to a 14,8 and I have had GPU on since starting on it so I guess the fix for errors only works on the 5,1 Mac. That said, I've had zero video...

Re: Unable to communicate with SYNC HD (24.3)

A friend is running an identical hardware setup as me and is getting the exact same errors randomly but not rarely.
