Re: PT 2018's engine very limited?

Make sure plugs are up to date. How? Determine the exact build/version of each plug. Contact each plug company you installed (not just the plugs in use), and verify compatibility of the exact version...

Re: Mastering for bad systems?

As I mix, I switch between 4 listening setups: big/medium/small speakers plus headphones. Check mix in mono, too.

Re: Buying a Monitor (Screen)

I use three. I put the edit window on the center 43", which keeps me in the sweet spot. Mix window goes to the right 24", and plugs or video to the left 24".

Re: video monitor management

So what's the issue then? I'm confused ...

My 3rd monitor can display video playback and nothing else, i.e. mon 1 = edit, mon 2 = mix, mon 3 = pic. (If I needed to, I could simply) split the mon...

Re: video monitor management

I use 3 monitors: edit/mix/picture playback. I don't do much ADR, but I suppose I could split the pic screen, and send that signal to a booth monitor.

Re: Will this HP Pavilion run PT2018?

Maybe I just got lucky? A few years ago I bought a 17" HP laptop with an i7 quad processor and Win 7 Pro. I took the time to research/uninstall ALL bloatware, killed most startup items, and did all...

Re: Signs of Impending SSD Failure?

Run chkdsk. Run a temp monitor test. Also, run a free pgm called Speccy that tells you all sorts of geekish info about your system.

Re: Gambled on a really cheap audio I/O box

More testing with this rig. Made 8 audio record tracks. Added an EQ and a comp to each. Aux send each to a reverb. Routed all to a stereo record "mix" track. Buffer 128 (as explained above) and 48k....
