Re: 1814 Inputs

I have other problems with it, but I don't find the inputs noisy at all. The preamps are noisy if you crank them, but I really don't use them.

Re: RME FF800 & FW 1814

Direct monitoring works when in protools, I do it on every session. Doesn't work 100% correctly (my meters don't seem to work) but sound does come out correctly.

Re: New M-Audio FireWire series drivers!

I have contacted them so many times about this problem. The good news is, they're working on it...I hope I can continue working on it...My favorite thing that happens is when I am monitoring a live...

Re: EQ question

Better converters and better speakers may (and usually do) help, but more importantly (and cheaper), learn what you have. Listen to your mix and try to figure out where and how it sounds different....

Re: DINR LE Broadband Noise Reduction

I have used this effectively- I just highlight the audio I need it to process and let it do its thing. I found the more I fooled with it the worse it got, but one tip is to leave a section of the...

Re: PTMP - Licence Transfer

You souldn't have any problems. Is the ilok with it or are you sayign you already have one? In either case, you need the ilok asset in your account and on an ilok in order for mpowered to work. I...

Re: Can\'t use any other audio interface?!

Protools doesn't do it, valid technical reason or not. there's no way you could have missed that- it is the same from HD on down. PLugging the analog out of the pod to the analog in of the solo or...

Re: Help with firewire-chaining w/ FW1814

If it is a PC, you will need to get a firewire card. Chaining a drive to the 1814 does not work, even though the documentation says it does. Search in this forum and you will find a lot of posts...

Re: stuttering- firewire 1814, emachines 6805

Yes, I tried. The video drivers, downloaded from ati's website, will not install, saying they found a driver or something. No matter what I did, they wouldn't install. I never had this problem before...

Re: Recording Drums To Click

On the mbox, you want to leave the mix control for playback and mute the drum tracks so they don't play back through the system (although all the way to play back would do this too). Something tells...

Re: Level knob doesn\'t work on 1814?

M-Audio really needs to get this together. To know this doesn't work yet have a driver that is WAY old is unacceptable. The 1814 has the potential to be such a great piece of gear and I use it...

Re: Level knob doesn\'t work on 1814?

Mine does the same thing. It is a pain, that's for sure. I will be getting some sort of monitoring matrix soon anyway, because even if it does work I don't want a software knob controlling my volume,...

Re: Has anyone figured this out yet?

I went through this with my 1814 and emachies 6805. Using a usb2 hard drive solves the problem. I think it is terrible that a firewire drive won't work on the same bus, but for now I have to go along...

In your preferences, their is an option to select the default session length. If it says "Use all available space" that is probably causing your problem. Just pick a number and the problem will go...

Re: Live recording Question 002R

I do the whole recording as one session. If it is a live show, chances are that you're mixing all of the songs fairly similarly, since the drummer probably is not changing kits between tunes, etc. I...

Re: Pro tools m-powered digital click problem!!

I had this problem too, and yes, USB 2 fixed it. Also, check audio buffer size, that was the cause of my skipping during recording- at 256 samples no skipping, at 512, occasional skips. Seems...
