I'd prefer to run headphone mixes and punch in's being monitored from the inputs on my digital console instead of having to go through the interface when tracking.

In Pro Tools 10 they have the "low latency monitoring" for two channels and you have to turn it off when bouncing to disk, kind of a headache.

The point is that Protools should also provide an "off" monitoring option so that if you record from a hardware mixer, the return of the audio channel(s) doesn't come back to the mixer...

The problem was that there was no way to turn off the input monitoring function. I would like to know this also as it is the only thing that keeps me away from Protools from a large tracking...

The reason I "was" getting this message was because I was using two 24 channel Audio interfaces (which are not made by Avid). Protools 9 only supports 32 channels of I/O so PT was freaking out with...

Why the heck would they not make an "Input Monitoring Off" feature so that you can do punch in's when monitoring from a hardware mixing console?
