Yes, Mac OS X (9G55) is 10.5.6.

Pro Tools LE 7.4 is only qualified thru 10.4.9 Tiger. Many users have successfully used 7.4 thru 10.4.11.

PT 7.4 is not supported in Leopard 10.5.x. You would...

They meant Intel Mac. There aren't any Pentium Macs. Mac Pro units use Xeon processors.

Update:

I moved the Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin out of the Library > Audio > Plugins > HAL folder and restarted. Now, coreaudid is not crashing and I can still use the Mbox 2 Mini as audio...

No, it shouldn't remove any third-party plugs...only the plugs that come as part of the Pro Tools package - which will be reinstalled when you do the PT install.

PT 7.4 is not officially supported under 10.5.1. You may be running into some issues with compatibility on the MBP due to this.
