To me standalone means no external audio interface. No audio drive is okay in an emergency, but you are inviting problems and overall poor performance.

Thanks, I haven't gotten pt 9 to see my 002 yet, but I will try the driver install before the pt 9 install to seee if that works. Do the faders on the 003 link to PT track volumes?

I have it running stand alone on an iMac right now...not bad...lots of tracks and plugins and video no problem. I just can't get it to look at my 002.

Exacty, extended desktop mode. I am using a mini DVI to VGA adapter ($12.99 at Best Buy as I remember) and extending my desktop out onto a nice HP 24" monitor. Could have also used HDMI on that...
